Monday

today was a new adventure for me. Went to parts of Paris that I have not been before.
They were:

up scale department store

MacDonalds (well, maybe I have been to a Paris one before)

Luxemborg Gardens
Bercy area

Opera Garnier tour

Took the Metro back by myself to try to get to a certain store before it closed. Failed. So then I came here, to the internet cafe.
will meet the others for dinner.

Some of the girls did a lot of shopping, or at least window shopping, others did the Opera tour - place of the fictional phantom of the opera story.

Love you all. I have appreciated the comments that some of you have left on the blog.

Back to "home" - Paris!

Sunday now just past 1:30 pm.

We had a very relaxing time in Chartres. Went to service at cathedral which was entirely full of people. Special service, we believe, of children making their first communion. Wonderful female vocalist. Voice reverbiated the giant space.

Had Italian dinner. pizza and lasgna . Barb and I had wine. Mady and Tara had oramnge vodka drink.

Train ride back was totally uneventful. Wow. That was ok by some but disappointing, possibly, by others.

Rainy day here. Some may go to a free organ concert at 5:00pm in the American Church on the Seine River.

Shopping, random sightseeing tomorrow. Versailles is scheduled for Tuesday. Then we head to the airport early Wednesday morning.

Saturday

Hello!
I just found the exclamation point on the French keyboard!!!!!

MADE IT to Chartres and yes, "made it" is capitalized for good reason. Another great story with details when we get home. But in brief- after a good morning at the Orsay Musee and then lunch at the Pompidou Center followed by brief peruse of the modern art museum, we ventured onto Friday holiday weekend rush hour people traffic on the Metro with luggage in hand, tow, or back. The cars were packed so tight we could not ride the same train. We traveledin shifts. Then we got to the big station trying to find the right line (and transportation system)to get out of town. Finally; bought the tickets and platform. But rain caused problems, so trains began to be canceled. So we got on and off 2 trains; I think. Eventually; after more starts and stops; we got here!!!!

Attended a talk on the cathedral today. Then split up to "play" in the town the rest of the day and night. Kathleen and I had a very nice lunch which started out to be an "eat and walk" or sit on a bench and eat, but turned into a beautiful upstairs restaurant beside a fireplace over looking the street scene.

Thats all for now: Sorry for no pictures again. There have been no internets in the hotel lobbies so little chance to experiment.

Love to all who read this - Victoria

online again - continuing

New keyboard! Much easier.

Have slept 2 nights - this is Thursday.

Having fun. Saw Notre Dome, good food, working together for satisfaction of all.

Will tell you later about pick pocket encounter. Nothing taken, but had a confrontation on top of Arch de Triumph. Also Barbie threw up on top but not over the side and before the pickpocket encounter. Barbie is healthy now. No problems.

Saw Monet's waterl lilies today in 360 degrees surround vision. Awesome.

Tomorrow afternoon we will go to Chartes.

The four that stayed on Montemartre MAY see the Moulin Rouge. Lynda is worried that she and others may be lost forever. I think that Mady would like to be "lost" forever in Paris. She is threatening to move.

Eiffel Tower tonight, at least for those not "Lost."

Finally...an iternet cafe

Hello everyone;
Thursday = excuse the typing errors: different keyboard

Internet is only open 10:00 to 8:00 pm

Went to Louvre today and Orqngerie museums. Then to Montemartre. Tara, Lynda, MADY, and Kathleen are spending part of the evening there. Barb, Mqrlena and I came back to hotel area to do internet cafe.

Too hard to add more now. A is a Q on the keyboard and M is in a different place.

Hopefully, more another time.

7 more nights

We sleep 7 more nights in the USA before flying!

This is a "test" post to see if I remembered anything that Susan taught me. I am hoping that you other girls on the adventure will try some postings, too, before we leave. It would be cool if you could do a trial post of a photo.
